The important distinction

An allocation is a plan, not a birthday.

01

Factory allocation

Many surviving lists record numbers reserved for planned production. The year can precede the moment an individual item was assembled.

02

Physical configuration

A converted body may retain its original number. The lookup describes the recorded allocation, not every later modification.

Context beyond the calculator.

Transparent by design

Disagreement belongs in the result.

Ranges are never merged just to produce a cleaner answer. Each record keeps its source locator, semantic date type, confidence reason, and review status.
